New Pathfinders was founded due to the longstanding and ongoing success of its founder, Ahmed AlShargabi, and its partner organization, The Yemen Polling Center (YPC).
Originally a noted journalist, Hafez Albukari began the Yemen Polling Center (YPC) in 2004 as a response to urgent need-gaps in social science research, polling, data analysis, and monitoring and evaluation services in Yemen. Albukari built a research center dedicated to excellence and reliability. Since then, YPC has proudly partnered with international organizations, private-sector clients, and other research institutions interested in further mapping and exploring the ever-changing socio-political landscape of Yemen.
Since 2011, YPC has operated without interruption in Yemen under fire in some of the country’s most volatile areas. After nearly fifteen years of success, Albukari’s New Pathfinders is an international branch of YPC to serve the Middle East and North African region.
As Yemen continues to face an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, YPC has been pleased to support the work of international organizations and stakeholders seeking to design evidence-based intervention plans. The life-saving work of the UN Humanitarian Country Team, including the World Food Program and UNICEF, has been rooted in research designed and implemented by the YPC team.
Headquartered in Washington, DC, New Pathfinders is proud to continue the work of its founding agency, YPC, by conducting research that matters.
